About the Arnold & Son Nebula Collection
A nebula is an enormous cloud of dust and gas found in interstellar space. Arnold & Son took inspiration from this celestial occurrence to create one of their most amazing timepieces, rightfully called Nebula. The maison have brilliantly captured this stellar explosion in the watch through the deliberate and meticulous arrangement of movement components, particularly the bridges, which seem to be expanding from the centre to the perimeter.
Part of the Chronometry family, the Nebula collection of watches for men and women stands out with its unique movement architecture, characterised by a symmetrical yet intricate design. Carved entirely from the ground up, the movement features seven bridges assembled to look as if they are radiating from the centre of the dial. They are accompanied by two mainspring barrels fitted at ten and two o’clock. Their powerful combination provides the mechanism with constant torque that usually diminishes as the mainspring loses its energy whilst unwinding. To further elevate the aesthetics of the openwork movement, the brand have fitted the balance mechanism at four o’clock.
Arnold & Son weaponise one of their strongest suits of skeletonisation and synthesise it beautifully in the Nebula collection. As a result, each Nebula watch comes with a skeleton dial, allowing a captivating view of the distinctive movement within. The earlier Arnold & Son watches from the Nebula collection featured the calibre 5101; however, all the timepieces in the current lineup are equipped with the advanced 5201. The collection exudes a cosmic allure, adding an otherworldly charm to its overall appeal.
